Christa McAuliffe was born on this day in 1948. Happy Birthday Christa!

[Click on the title above to learn more about Christa’s life and her legacy to education and the world. The video, which runs about 43 minutes, shares a lot of great insight into Christa’s life and the world around her.]

According to this biography, Christa always seemed ready for adventure. “She always seemed ready for adventure…” “She enjoyed trying things” and “always went into things whole heartedly, and have a great time and think nothing of trying something new.”

Christa’s dream, the ultimate field trip, was to, “Teach the children of the world about the new frontier.”

“This America, which Abraham Lincoln called the last, best hope of man on Earth, was built on heroism and noble sacrifice. It was built by men and women like our seven star voyagers, who answered a call beyond duty, who gave more than was expected or required and who gave it little thought of worldly reward,” Reagan stated [on the loss of the Challenger crew.]

After her passing, our community chose to embrace her mission and adopted her name for our school.

Happy birthday Christa. Thank you for sharing your dream with us and the world.
